My previous station

On this page you will find a short description of my previous radio station.

My outside antennas In the picture to the right you can see the current antenna setup.
From top to bottom:

  • Discone for 50-1500 Mhz
  • Flexa FX-210 6 el. yagi for 2 m
  • Diamond 2 el. HB9CV for 6 m

The antennas were mounted on a mast with rotor. The 6 m antenna was aproximately 4 metres above ground level (that is too low, I know...), the discone antenna was 6 metres above ground level.

I used about 20 metres of coax cable from the antennas to the transceiver. For 6 m I used Aircel7, for the higher bands I used Aircom+ coax cable.

I also had a home made half lambda wire dipole for 10 m reception (RS-12/13 mainly) which was installed indoors in the attic.

In the picture below you can see what my previous shack looked like. It was in the attic of my home.
From left to right you can see:

  • Icom PCR-1000 (allmode computer receiver 0.5-1800 Mhz)
  • Yaesu FT-847 (allmode transceiver HF, 6 m, 2 m, 70 cm)
  • Dawai SWR meter (140-525 MHz)
  • Kenwood TM-451e (FM transceiver 70 cm)
  • Yaesu FT-208R (FM handheld 2 m, my first transceiver)
  • On the wall: Comet triplexer + coax switches
